About Adetola

Hi there, I’m Adetola “Tola” Akinnubi. In January of 2018, I began my senior year of college, and I was trying to go out with a bang. I’m not referring to having as much fun as I could before graduation, I’m talking about making a name for myself. The past two years in college were fun, but I desired more. I wanted to get more involved and take more risks.

So I did. That semester, I joined WomenLead. WomenLead is a for-credit program with courses such as WomenLead in Business, WomenLead in Science, and WomenLead in Policy & Politics. The goal of the sessions is to help Georgia State students create a roadmap to leadership by addressing social issues such as gender parity. As a finance major, I was apart of WomenLead in Business, and it was one of the most valuable classes of my undergraduate career. Most importantly, I was successful in building my professional network. I stepped out of my comfort zone, and now I have connections with people who manage million-dollar investment portfolios, own million dollar companies, and support million dollar ideas.

So what does all of this have to do with you?

Well, I also learned that everyone isn’t like me. I often met students who weren’t confident or had dreams but had no idea how to accomplish them. Yet, in the center of their nervousness, I saw a spark, a desire, and a potential to be great. Every time I saw it, I wanted to grab their hand and show them that there’s nothing to fear. A little sprinkle of action can make a big difference.

If you’re nervous about networking, have no idea where to begin, or if you’re just interested in my journey, this site is for you. My mission is to help students advance their career and knowledge by providing the information needed to build a professional network. 100% of this information is backed by professionals who've agreed to share their with experiences with me. I hope to inspire you to ignite the spark in you.
